You may be experiencing a "panic attack." A panic attack is a symptom of anxiety. Many people think they are having a heart attack. They often think they are dying or going "crazy." Many end up in an emergency rooms. Symptoms include numbness and tingling, chest pain, choking sensation, rapid heart beat, "black-outs." Panic attacks can be "triggered" by a stressful event or can occur when a person is calm and unaware of anything that is consciously distressing to them.
